Is there enough news to program a station? Metro
KC isn't much smaller than metro STL, and one of the reasons why we don't have
an all-news station -- at least on radio -- is that there just isn't enough
going on, so outside of morning and evening drive times, the rest of the day on
the "news" station here is talk. they're switching from Conference USA to the Atlantic 10), KMOX would be a
logical choice to flip to all-news. KMOX's ratings are half of what they were 20
years ago, and since KMOX management doesn't seem to care much about St. Louis
anymore, this is a possibility that the rumor mill would more than likely
exploit. It remains to be seen if KMOX does drop the talk portion of their
format, however.
