I took Ray Moore's lead and Nick Hall-Patch's suggestion and listened for TP's this
morning between 1200 and 1230 UTC. I found a carrier on 1098 that seems to be
fairly steady. I don't it is a spur or generated in the receiver because it varied in
strength in a 15 to 20 db range. I also logged faint carriers on 1566 and on 1206.
Maybe we can actually hear some TPs on the East Coast as the Sunspot number
stays low!
I used Spec Lab to detect the carriers. My receiver is a Drake R8B and I use a
Quantum phaser, a K9AY and a 300 foot longwire with a matching transformer.
