I just found a 'new twist' for radio listeners. Or at least it is new
to me.
>From 11:00-11:05pm PDT 9/11/04 on 1560 kHz there were two signals
mixing, one with AP Network News & the other with local Bakersfield ads,
promos & KNZR ID's. The catch is/was that the other station with the
News was KNZR as well. At 11:05 I had two KNZR ID's, then something
kicked in and back to one solid signal again. I've heard this before
around the same time, either 11-11:05 or midnight to 12:05. Assuming
some type of satellite screw-up but if this catches on it may be worse
than even IBOC (for dxers anyway).
I thought someone had changed format on 1590 when I heard a comedy bit
being played and coming in well thru KLIV but it turned out to be
Ventura who shortly went back to their AC music. Reception continues to
be improved but too much noise for me to listen more than a few
minutes. 1550 local KYCY really wiped out in their null by a station in
spanish. I suspect Reno as it looped that way. Still no decent signal
from Oregon City on 1520 and Tacoma is dominating 1360 as I still need
Ridgecrest & the new San Diego calls.
ho hum!
dkk
