Sri Lanka is going to setup a new radio channel for children:

A new radio channel especially for children commences on the 28th of this 
month (March). Chairman of Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC) Sunil 
Sarath Perera says all preparations in this regard are in place. It is 
being carried out under the direction of media minister Anura Priyadarshana 
Yapa and according to a proposal by President Mahinda Rajapakse. The radio 
channel named 'Vidula' becomes the 1st children's radio service in the 
world. The main objective of the new service is to empower the country's 
children with knowledge and talents thereby creating a disciplined society. 
Programmes on this channel will be not only for children but also for 
teachers and parents. The SLBC chairman said the Vidula radio channel will 
also conduct distant education programmes.
