[HCDX] EWE Antenna
As many of you know, I have not been completely happy with my new EWE
from last Summer. I thought it might be too long (110 feet or so). I
decided to cut about a third off from it today and realign it a bit to
be more SW. It is still off maybe 5 degrees from my old EWE, but the
directivity has sure improved! Wow, what a difference. I have not had a
chance to check out the Pacific on it as yet, but I noticed on
Groundwave that stations like KBCH-Lincoln City, OR down the coast does
not get the QRM from Longview WA anymore. I also get North Bend OR on
1340 instead of Tumwater WA. No sign of Boise off the new EWE during the
day and I noticed KFI was a hair better. This is closer to what I used
to have. It will be interesting to see how it does on the Pacific.
