 CPC and DX tests

*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-
Both CPC Chairpersons are reporting that stations do not seem to be
interested in conducting tests (er, letting us know when they conduct
tests)... thus the lack of tests this season. It's a shame, this
section was quite busy at this time of the year in the past.... pb

The Russian-language, religious Semeynoye Radio in Tartu (612 kHz, 100
kW) will not be able to go on the air on 24 December 2000 as originally
planned. The construction works at the transmitter site are delayed,
currently the 249 meter high mast is being erected. The transmitter has
not arrived yet, the broadcasting company Pereraadio is expecting first
test transmissions not before spring 2001.
A silent carrier can be heard on 171 kHz at this moment (10:30 UTC).
Preliminary beamings here in Vilnius indicate that the signal is coming
straight from the south, suggesting a tests from the transmitting center
in Lviv. The 171 kHz outlet in Lviv has been silent over the recent
months.
More testing has been observed on 171 kHz during the last 48 hours.
The origin is still unclear, and it is also unclear wether there has
been more than one transmitter on the air.
Contrary to earlier assumptions, the current tests do not come from
the transmitter site in Lviv-Krasne UKR (the site denied such activation
in a phonecall), and also not from Sasnovy BLR (there has been no strong
groundwave signal in Vilnius after the observation on Monday).
There are certain indications that the current tests are perhaps
originating from the Tbilisskaya transmitting site in Russia's Krasnodar
kray, but this still has to be confirmed. During recent hours, the
transmitter in question has been transmitting Mayak (both at night and
now in the evening).

630 - WBMQ is bad about forgetting to go DA. They've been known to
leave it NON DA all night and the morning person hit the switch and do
night pattern a good while till someone catches it.
The WCSZ or whatever (old WHYZ) on 1070 has been VERY late in cutting
power. I mean VERY.....]:)

CJXX-93.1 Grande Prairie, AB is up and running. Noted here earlier
this AM with open carrier. Then about an hour later with C/W music. Had
it on for about 3 hours while returning from Edmonton to hear that it is
playing straight music, no ads, news or weather and definitely not
paralleling the AM outlet. Every 10 mins or so there is a vocal
announcement that says that you're listening to a test signal from the
new CJXX-93.1 FM, and that the official sign on is November 1st at
8.00pm MST. At the moment I have no idea how much longer CJXX-840 AM
will be on. If other new FM outlets are anything to go by, it'll be gone
by the end of the year.

The tests at the transmitting center of Telekomunikacja Polska (TPSA)
in Koszecin (near Czestochowa) which were reported on 1080 kHz in August
were made in connection with modulation modifications (DCC). The
programme of R. Maryja was aired for this test purpose only. Further
tests are planned for November.
Koszecin (which employs 2x750kW transmitters) is the only high power
mediumwave site in Poland which is operational, the sites in Poznan
(738), Warszawa (819) and Szczecin (1503) have been dismantled. TPSA is
now looking for clients for the outlet on 1080 kHz.

KRAK-1470 ceased to exist as an independent station Monday at 6pm PLT
when it began relaying sister station 105.1 KNCI. Apparently the
station being sold by Infinity to ABC-Disney (Radio Disney, anyone?).
The staff was given minimal warning.
The calls are still KRAK, quickly given on the hour; otherwise you'll
just hear references to KNCI.

New X Bander (1611) playing 70/80/90's continuous rock music, no
announcements.
Seems like Keith Ashton's 1611 is on air. Seems like coming from
Western suburbs of Sydney.

**Glenn Hauser - Enid OK - ghauser@xxxxxxxxxxx

From Dino Bloise in Hollywood, as I translate:
A new station is about to go on the air in Florida, "Radio Aeropuerto
Musical," WRHC on 1560 AM stereo with 50,000 watts and a musical format.
This belongs to the Cuban Jorge Rodriguez who already owns "La Poderosa"
670 in Miami. (Dino)
I thought a station already existed on 1560, or 1550 (change of
frequency without FCC pemission), right? So this could be a change of
ownership and/or format (gh)
Glenn, according to what he said in a special program, Sr. Jorge
Rodriguez, owner of this station only lacks final approval from the FCC
authorizing use of the new frequency 1560. In the short time I have been
living here, I have not heard any signal on this frequency; it`s empty
(Dino Bloise, Oct 23, via Glenn Hauser)

**Bill Hale - Fort Worth TX - phantom2@xxxxxxxx

According to the FCC database, which is sometimes reliable, there are
two 1560s operating in Florida: Inverness WINV with 5000 watts (a
daytimer) and an application for 6800 watts, and Melbourne WAOA with
5000 watts daytime only.
On 1550, they show WRHC Coral Gables with 10000 watts days, 500 watts
nights, two different patterns. They also have a Construction Permit
for 44000 days and 4400 watts with two different patterns. No mention
of their moving to/from 1550, but this CP may be for that. Both day and
night patterns protect Inverness and Melbourne very well. Also, WAMA in
Tampa is on 1550 with 10000 watts daytime, and 133 watts nights non-
directional.
If this is different from what is on there in reality, the Feds don't
know about it ;-) Or aren't telling, hi.
Since going to the new CDBS system, getting the straight skinny out of
them has been glitchy.

***Nigel Pimblett - ntp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx

On the weekend of Oct 7-9 Don Moman, Mickey Delmage, Joe Talbot and
myself participated in a listening session at Don Moman's location at
Lamont, northeast of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The antenna employed
was a beverage of about 500 metres aimed at Europe. October 9th brought
one of the best mediumwave European openings of recent years.
Interestingly, longwave was inferior to the previous night, when no
audio was heard from Europe on MW.
Thanks to Joe Talbot for getting our catches to HCDX promptly, as I
knew I wouldn't be able to. Now I've made a first pass through the
tapes, here are a few more details on our European MW loggings.

1098 SLOVAKIA, Nitra 0343 Oct 9, Radio Slovensko, with man and woman
hosting music program, with interviews. One of the strongest
       European signals.
1116 ITALY, Radiodue 0412 Oct 9, Tentatively the one with song by a
man, then what I'm pretty sure was Italian talk by a woman.
1134 CROATIA, Zadar 0304 Oct 9, Presumed the one in a Slavic language
with end of news, into pop/dance tune.
1188 HUNGARY, Marcali 0308 Oct 9, Radio Free Europe programming in
Slavic language with speech by aman, then folk music. RFE ID by
       a woman just prior to 0330 s/off.
1197 GERMANY, Munich 0316 Oct 9, Talk by a man in a Slavic language.
Not sure if this was a VOA or RFE program.
1206 FRANCE, Bordeaux 0405 Oct 9, Program promo, several mentions of
"Bleue". Signal was in, often at very good levels, for over an
       hour.
1215 UNITED KINGDOM, synchros, Virgin Radio, with pop music, several
ads, including one for Virgin Trains.
1233 unID 0436 Oct 9, In for a couple of minutes with a man
speaking in an eastern European language. Possibly Czech Rep?
1323 GERMANY, Wachenbrunn 0445 Oct 9, Religous porgram in German.
Woman gave an address in Wurzburg near the end of the program.
Then followed Voice of Russia interval signal, and sign on in
       English at 0500.
1377 FRANCE, Lille 0338 Oct 9, Presumed France Bleue with woman
speaking in French. Only audible for a couple of minutes, with
       lots of splatter from 1380.
1395 NETHERLANDS, Lopik 0357 Oct 9, Business News 1395 with great
signal off and on for about half an hour, with an internet
feature, quotes from Wall Street Journal etc.
1467 FRANCE, Roumooules 0353 Oct 9, Tentatively Trans World Radio
with religious program in German. Faded just before 0400, and
heard tones prior to another station signing on at 0400.
1548 unID 0324 Oct 9, Bits of audio with talk by a British-accented
announcer. Audio came up again at 0340, but then with a play,
with American accents, so can't be certain it was the same
       station.

       ID's as Radio Colorado.
810 WHB MO, Kansas City 10/19 0822 with a tremendously long string
of ads that probably ran the place for a month. An ad for True
Value's "Ultimate Garage" and if you can't get to the store you
can get an entry in the Kansas City Star, an ad for online
betting at enterbet.com [I can't wait NOT to go there], an ad for
the Sterner Career Fair, an ad for McGuire Mortgage where you can
get a Len Dawson autographed football, an ad to go to the KSU
football game with Texas A&M, a National Tire and Battery ad, and
then a few more ads and into "Sportscenter". I know that if I
didn't want to know who this was, I would have long spun the dial
       elsewhere.
1460 KTYM CA, Inglewood 10/14 0915 with a black woman preaching and
giving an 800 number for counselling, then a black man giving an

Wee Small Hours of the Morning". Not sure that the calls are as
given since there aren't too many 3 letter calls anymore. This
       one used to be KQEO.

There was a fair opening to Europe earlier this evening. Audio was
heard on 864, 1053, 1107, 1377 and 1386. 836 was very faint, could just
make out a man talking above the noise. 1107 was similar, though music
could be heard underneath the talking. 1053 had faint music on it. 1314
was playing swing music, so probably Kitsvoy, and not needed here. On
1377 I could hear very faintly a female singing, language unknown. The
best was 1386 which had a man and a woman in a discussion and I made out
a phone number, which gave a UK prefix. The language was E/E and the
accents were very very english, much more so than mine (hi). They would
talk for a few minutes and then they would play a pop record.
Unfortunately I can't find any station listed for the UK. Any ideas
anyone? Long deep fades typical of TA receptions were the norm. I also
heard carriers on 747, 756, 801, 819, 855, 918, 936, 945, 1008, 1094,
1071, 1125, 1134, 1143, 1152, 1206, 1215, 1224, 1269, 1287, 1332, 1413,
1422, 1503 and 1512. All this occured around midnight UTC. Nothing noted
on longwaves. Heard on a Drake R-7 and 150' EWE antenna.
In addition to what I heard earlier, 1377 finally gave some real good
audio for 2 or 3 minutes. Then back down into the noise.

1377 FRANCE, Lille 0330 10/23. Presumed Man and woman speaking French
with very different accents to french speaking Canadians.
Followed by a male singing in French. Then it faded down in to
the noise again. New for me, though not a new country. (MJS-AB)

Conditions seemed to be good to the north and west last night, so I
decided to see what's underneath some of the lower-powered Philadelphia,
NY, and NJ stations near me. Heard on a GE Superadio 3.

540 French Canadian, presumed CBGA, New Carlisle, PQ. Underneath
       WLUX, Islip, Long Island.
610 French Canadian, presumed CHNC, New Carlisle, PQ. Underneath WIP,
       Philadelphia.

**I'm presuming the above two, because according to my info they're the
only stations on their frequencies operating from a Francophone area.
But I'd appreciate any comments/corrections/clarifications.

620 WTMJ, Milwaukee. Caught the calls and little else. Underneath
       WJWR, Jersey City/NYC.
640 pretty active; seems to be three stations fighting it out here.
Caught "Solid Gospel" with Tom Carter, which website lists two
affiliates on that channel. A call to one, WHOF, Wildwood, FL,
informed me that they've changed owners, calls, and format (to
adult contemporary). So that leaves WHLO, Akron, OH; their
website program schedule has that show listed for that time.
I'll follow up tonight. Other two are Anglophone Canadian, one
broadcasting CBC news, the other carrying a BBC program. My
tentative guess is that they are CBN, St. John's NF and CFYI,
Richmond Hill, ON. Wish they'd ID sometime. All this is
underneath WWJZ, Mt. Holly/Philadelphia, or after it signs off.
1650 KCNZ, Cedar Falls, IA. ID'd as "KCNZ 1250 and 1650." Usually
       WHKT, Portsmouth, VA dominates here.

540 This could be CBGA1 New Carlisle PQ or CBEF Windsor ON. Both
carry the CBC French service. Often I can hear both, with a
distinct echo caused by the audio delay between stations.
610 CHNC carries the French "Radiomedia" network. Check for a
parallel with CKAC Montreal on 730 or other Radiomedia outlets.
I often hear CHNC under my local WGIR Manchester NH.
640 Yes, this is most likely WHLO. I've heard them with Solid Gospel

From 2000 EDT to 2016 EDT I have been listening to a station in Arabic
on 1520 Kc. Very nice signal until fad out at 2016. My Arabic is VERY
rusty, and I did not understand a word that was said. The music wasn't
to bad.
I am in the southern end of Bradley county Tennessee. That's about 30
miles east of Chattanooga, and we are near the Georgia border. The
antenna is a 40 meter dipole up 20 ft, at the apex, from the ground.
Receiver is a Drake R-4C. This is the first real BCB DX I have heard in
2 years.

**Paul Swearingen - Topeka KS - PlsBCBDXER@xxxxxxx

If in the eastern U. S., you most likely were listening to Duba, Saudi
Arabia, on 1521, a rather common catch on the eastern seaboard -Paul
Swearingen

Neil Kazaros - neilkaz@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

If this was the Saudi, he, in TN, certainly have heard a loud 1KHz het
against what ever stations were on 1520. I'd hesitate to think this was
Saudi unless he's ure it was on 1521 and not just a domestic on 1520.
CX are AU tonite as I'm not even getting WJR very well while WSB is
huge here NW of Chicago.
I'll also recall the Saudi s/off normally at 2300 UTC which is prior
to Willis' log. Perhaps some east coast member can tell us when they
S/off now

**Willis - wb5khd@xxxxxxxx

For all who responded to my "Arabic on 1520kc" post, let's do a little
calculation of time.
I was hearing the station at 2000 EDT; that is 0000 UTC (Midnight)./
Saudi Arabia is UTC+3 hours.
That makes it 0300 on the Red Sea side of Saudi Arabia.
My World Radio TV Handbook has a s/on and hours of operation as 0300 -
1500 UTC in Arabic. This is the General Arabic service. (Not sure of any
2300 UTC s/off time.)
This would work out fine for an all dark path between my QTH and Saudi
Arabia, as the sun had been down for about 30 minutes. This is not the
first time I have heard this on 1520 kc. Last time was around the same,
right after sun down, during dusk.
And at a listed 2 mega watts output, I would bet that it was Duba.
BUT, I don't understand Arabic, so don't know. There is no other
stations listed on that frequency that could be it. I was thinking of
"Grayline DX" but I not sure of sunrise in the middle east.
The signal dominated the frequency for about 15 minutes. My Drake R-4C
receiver at lease 2 or 3 kc over. Other stations heard on 1520 was one
with "Music of life" format and a gospel station, with the arabic coming
out on top.
If it was not Duba, What was it??

**Mike Pietruk - pietruk@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I have no idea what the catch is, but I'd also hunch that's it's a
domestic or perhaps Canadian. A loss of signal at 2016 might mean a
pattern change or power down at 15 minutes after the hour. At that time
in October, it most likely would mean a 6:15 pm power down or pattern
switch somewhere in the Mountain or, at the extreme, Pacific time zone
of 65:15 pm. Perhaps a search of a station logbook might reveal some
candidates. And, if this fails, perhaps there is a station in the
Midwest or East that was accidentally or temporarily on its day pattern.

**Russ Edmunds - wb2bjh@xxxxxxxxxxx

Based on numerous comments on the lists and in DXN over the past year
or so, I think it would be risky indeed to take the schedule listed in
WRTH as being authoritative - they are in error as much as they are
correct anymore. The Euro MW Guide says 2300 UTC s/off and is based upon
lots of European monitoring and is both a more current and more reliable
source.
I am also inclined to agree with those who suggested that if you heard
no audible het, and that if you were able to notice an MYL clearly along
with it, there's a good probability you were actually on 1520....

**Robert Foxworth - rfoxwor1@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Any chance it was Greek and not Arabic? If Greek, then you likely had
the Tampa Bay area station on 1520 which occasionally seems to be well
hrd here after dark, although not regularly. It's a daytime local.

**Bruce Conti - BACONTI@xxxxxxx

The WRTH schedule is correct. BSKSA Duba, Saudi Arabia on 1521
broadcasts 0300-2300 UTC. However, they typically turn on the
transmitter as early as 0200 with an open carrier. Saudi Arabia
wouldn't have been on the air 0000 to 0016 UTC.

Willis - wb5khd@xxxxxxxx

I looked through a listing of BCB stations on 1520 and their formats.
I looked for stations in neighboring states that might has a Greek or
Arabic formats.
I found that WXYB-1520 kc. is licensed to Indian Rocks Beach, FL with
a ethnic format. So I called the station. They not only do Greek and
Arabic, but also Italian, German, and have some Canadian programs. They
are also on 1500 kc. WPSO.
They also have ethnic programs on LPTV channel 48 and I was told that
they are planning to go to 3 megawatts of power. No date was given.
The person I talked to confirmed that what I heard was Greek and it
was just before their s/off time. Strange how Greek sounds like Arabic.
I also must be honest and admit I wrote down the wrong reception
times. It was at local sunset which is between 1900 and 1915 EDT. Please
forgive any confusion this may have caused to anyone on the list.

Did I miss this somehow? I noted Radio Unica on 990 last night while
tuning the dial, and find it on KATD this afternoon as well. 1010 KIQI
sounds weaker than usual. Now, I just checked the Unica website and
found this news item dated 6/15! Unica has taken over KATD, and is
moving the station to Sacramento, so that the KIQI coverage can be
increased! Check the link:

Sunday evening I heard a station on 730 playing what I would describe
as country-gospel at local sunset. Heard a song called "Go Tell The
People Jesus Is Coming" at 6:42 p.m. Eastern Local/Daylight Savings
Time. At 6:44 p.m. there was a liner/taped ID by a woman "AM - 73" and
then more country-gospel. Signal was rather strong until 6:45 when mid-
song I assume they cut power to night power.
If they actually cut power when they were supposed to sign off time
would be a line going from Eastern Ohio/Western Pennsylvania through
West Virginia, Virginia and North Carolina down to South Carolina. WPIT
in Pittsburgh is heard here fairly regularly, but I don't think the
music fits them. And last time I heard WSCC-Charleston they were news-
talk.
  Ideas anyone?

1470 UnID SS station heard 10/20-21 2328-0020. UnID station played SS
(pop ?) music with brief talk between selections. They were
strong most of the time but, of course, faded during VIDs. I
heard three VIDs at separate times, one at TOH, but I don't
understand SS. Bits and pieces heard sounded like: "Radio
Ravidan", "...catorce sesenta [14-70 in EE]" , "..con deis mil
watts de potencia [...with 10,000 watts of power]" The only 10KW
SS station on 1470 in my logs is XERCN-BCN but they are 10KW days
and 5KW nights. However, many stations are known to brag about
their maximum power even while using a lower power. XERCN is my
best bet but can anyone confirm it? Also could hear second SS
talk program and football play-by-play in EE (suspect KBSN) in
background. KUTY is also SS but uses a maximum of 5KW. XEAI is
50KW and is as far as Mexico City whereas XERCN is in Tijuana and
undoubtably beams north into L.A. and Southern California and
eventually into the San Francisco Bay Area. (BK-CA)

Heard on a Drake R8-A with two long wires phased with an MFJ-1026mw.

**Pete Taylor - taytac@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

They're 50 rather than 10kw but if there's a chance you might have
misread it, CJVB Vancouver has been running SS in the evenings lately.

Anyone else getting a tone on 1640 10/23 2218? Both KPBC and KDIA are
readable and on frequency. KDYL-1280 (also Utah) was equal with KIT at
2045 so that's why KBJA Sandy is likely. Tried to call but the phone
number in the old NRC log and the current M Street Journal directory are
invalid.

  Could someone solve this mystery:
The KONG5 DX-pedition was held in Arctic Norway Oct 12-17.
During an opening towards Alberta during their sunset on Oct 13, we
noticed a CBC signal on 1150 khz. It ran in // with CFYK-1340, in an
Inuit language. Hence, there is no doubt that it is a CBC North relay
station. The Big Q is: Which? Some years ago, the NRC Log listed a
40w relay here, but it is not listed in the current Log. Staff at CFYK
confirms that they do not have any relays on 1150, but suggests that it
might be a community-owned rebroadcaster. Perhaps the CRTC is the best
source for information (if the station is licenced), but if someone on
this list (like our Canadian friends) have any info, please submit.
The station, if still on air, should be within reach for DX-peds going
to Mertajärvi and Lemmenjoki, especially now with CKX off the air.

1377 kHz is now solved. V/S Ying Lian of CRI English service writes as
follows: "The programs (1377kHz) wereayed from Henan province of Central
China". So, the QTH of 1377 kHz is Henan province. China Radio
International is using 1341 kHz for English programs as follows: 1200-
1400 UTC to South East Asia. CRI also broadcasts via WUST Washington DC,
USA on 1120 kHz between 1300-1400 UTC. CRI has been testing in English
on 1188 kHz between 1200-1300 UTC. This information comes from CRI

Those interested in following the classical radio situation in Denver
would be well advised to read the postings at the forum still sponsored
by KVOD. KLVZ-1220 apparently backed out from switching to classical
format as soon as it came out that Colorado Public Radio would be buying
the 1340 station. Meanwhile, there is a movement to block the transfer
of KVOD to a new owner which would convert it to Spanish.

You might find this useful. There's an online Japanese-English-
Japanese translator at: http://www.excite.co.jp/world/
Copy the URL: www.nhk.or.jp/material/top_local_800.html onto that page
(in the field that begins with http://) check the right-side radio
button below the field and push the button in the right side of the
field. And voila! - you have the NHK local stations info page in
English.
Also - the translation will be extended to the linked pages of that
page.
OK. The addresses seem to be translated to the very end, so they seem

NEW YORK Oct. 23, 2000 9:04 am
(WCBS) WCBS 880 has broadcast its last report from Black Rock, the
midtown Manhattan landmark building once home to Walter Cronkite.
The sleek skyscraper at 51 West 52nd Street was once the heart of
CBS's broadcast news operations. It has been CBS's headquarters since
1964.
On Saturday at 8:59 pm, WCBS 880 delivered it's final report from the
building.
In 1987, CBS began shifting workers from Black Rock, which could no
longer support the technological upgrades necessary for modern news
programming. WCBS 880's news, traffic and weather, was the last to
leave.
The WCBS 880 crew joins other CBS divisions, including CBS 2, at the
network's much larger Broadcast Center located on West 57th Street
between 10th and 11th avenues.
CBS officials say the move allows WCBS to become the first all-news
radio station to broadcast using only digital technology.

Radio Hall Of Fame, 9PM CT, Sat. Nov. 18

THE RADIO HALL OF FAME INDUCTEES FOR 2000:

--Oldies radio innovator Dick Bartley,
--engineering genius Dr. Amar G. Bose,
--legendary comedian Eddie Cantor,
--announcer Fred Foy,
--veteran New York broadcaster John A. Gambling
--Milo Hamilton, the voice of the Houston Astros

The 2000 Radio Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place during
a national radio broadcast and dinner from the Chicago Cultural Center,
home of America's only Radio Hall of Fame, on Saturday, November 18th.
The broadcast will take place at 10:00 PM (ET), 9:00 PM (CT), 8:00 PM
(MT) and 7:00 PM (PT). Radio Hall of Famer Casey Kasem of AM-FM Networks
will host the broadcast, which will be carried on major radio stations
from coast to coast. Jim Bohannon of Westwood One will return as this
year's announcer For more info, see: http://www.radiohof.org/
WLS, WGN, WABC, and (I believe WOL) have traditionally carried the
program. Webcasts via the stations and a videocast via the Museum
http://www.mbcnet.org/ are also options.
Other (esp. ABC) stations have frequently carried the show. It's
often left up to the station, decided at the last minute. Sat. eve.
sportscasts usually trump any airing of RHF. It wouldn't hurt to lobby
your fav. full service station.

According to the CBC website, Alice Arm BC is on 1150 kHz (see
http://www.radio.cbc.ca/channelguide/bear/). This is the only listing I
could find anywhere in the Territories or in BC. (I did not check
elsewhere.)
This website is tough to use for DXers, as you need to click on (or
hover over) various locations on a map to then find the frequency.
However, I have a printed, wallet-sized foldout called CBC Radio
Frequency Guide that lists all outlets in the country, and I had already
scanned it to determine this was a candidate...
I've asked the CBC webmaster if anything is on 1150, and will walk
across the street in the next week to see what I can find out in person.
(My office is next door to theirs.)

I'm looking for a small(er than ICF-2010) radio and have seen the DX-
399 at Radio Shack for $130 including AC adapter and carrying case.
I would like any and all opinions from our group as to its +++ and ---
as far as a DX radio.
BTW, we have a Radio Shack "Outlet Store" here just filled with
leftovers/overstocks/junque. It's quite a place.

For Sale:

Realistic DX-370, an AM, FM, FM Stereo, SW PLL synthesized receiver.
It has a digital readout, clock, sleep timer, alarm, and 20 memories.
This is a travel type radio and has large easy to read numbers on the
digital readout. There is a feature on the alarm for a buzzer or to wake
to music and a stereo / mono switch for the FM section. There also is a
lock function so the set can not be activated in a suitcase or while
carried.
This radio is a good performer for a small radio. The size is 4 3/8" x
6 1/2" x 1 1/4' and weighs 18.5 oz.
The DX 370 covers the following frequencies:

FM 88-108 mHz
MW 535 - 1705 kHz [ does the X thing ]
SW1 3.2 - 7.3 mHz
SW2 9.50 - 21.75 mHz

I have the owners manual with this radio and it will go to the first
person to pay $37.50 + 7 INSURED shipping.
This radio is for sale only over the internet. It is simple for a
sighted person to use but may prove difficult for a blind person,
therefore this is only being sold over the internet. If a blind person
can use a computer, this radio will be easily usable for them.
Please contact me at lwdxer@xxxxxxxx ONLY.
