KUWAIT 15110 Radio Kuwait heard with their English program on a good
evening with a high MUF. 0507, with a male and female announcer discussing
Arabic music. Fair, even good at times. Usually unreadable
here. (Salmaniw, Victoria, BC 6 September).
UNITED ARAB EMIRATES 21700 UAE Radio Dubai heard at 0537 in English with
poor signal. (Salmaniw, Victoria, BC 6 September).
BENIN 7210.27 Radio Benin heard with fair signals at 0540 tune-in with
talk in vernacular and French. Good signal when rechecked following day at
0601, when "Radio National du Benin" clearly heard. (Salmaniw, Victoria,
BC 6 - 7 September).
UKRAINE 11705 Radio Ukraine International in Ukrainian at 0603 poor/fair,
with parallel 11840 poor, under cochannel NHK. Very unusual to hear these
transmitters at this time. (Salmaniw, Victoria, BC 6 Sept).
NIGERIA 7255.0 Voice of Nigeria in English with good signals after 0604
tune-in. A good African night as well. (Salmaniw, Victoria, BC 6 September).
GUINEA 7125.0 Radio Guinea in French at 0605 with good reception. A far
cry from their programming of 20 years ago. Anyone recall the stilted Voix
de la Revolution programming?
Then again that name applied to a whole lot of stations in those
days! (Salmaniw, Victoria, BC 6 September).
ROMANIA 11940 Radio Romania International in English at 0612 with good
signal, parallel to stronger 15335, but the latter is under BBC
Russian. (Salmaniw, Victoria, BC 6 Sept).
