 I have seen two reports suggesting that La Voz de los Caras 
is active on 4796.4, one of the reporters is in South America, 
and the other one in Europe.  
I know that I am sticking my neck out by contradicting these 
two reports and saying that they have probably been hearing 
Bolivian Radio Mallku. One recent report says programme' 
consisted of  "huaynos, salsa, `Rondor` [Rondador?] music" 
This is inconsistent with the La Voz de los Caras format. 
Indeed, in Ecuador you will not hear any local stations play 
huaynos (from Peru, which is "enemy territory", huh!), and  
the rondador flute is generally confined to the Sierra.   
LV de los Caras did play salsa as well as ballads 
(in Spanish), but the last time I ever heard them on the air 
was in June 1996, on 4795.3. Cf. info at
