with woman in English, then vocal ballad. Woman again at 2204, followed
by man ("We'd like to remind you that ...") and possible promo or ad,
then back to songs interspersed with very brief announcements. Parallels
4910 (VL8K) and 5025 (VL8T) also readable; all three weak and about the
same level, with 4835 best, 4910 noisy, 5025 mixing with presumed Cuba.
Began to deteriorate around 2220 with daylight at transmitter sites.

AFGHANISTAN - R.Voice of Shairia on 7200, after several tries since
receiving them back n October 1996, they now replied by a partly
detailed letter confirmation. V/s A. Rahaman Nasseri, Dep. Eng. (Pres.
of Planning an Foreign Relations, Afghan Radio TV, P.O.Box 544, Kabul),
writes that Radio Voice of Shairia (former Radio Afghanistan)altogether
has a staff of over 1000 people working in program and technical
sections. They broadcast 13 program hours a day, including half hour of
English and Urdu. Frequencies ment.:  1107  1278 and 9635.  So, may be
after quite a long time  of silence since the Taliban took over power,
the Afghan BC station might now have resumed answering letters from

BELGIUM - Thanks to Frans Vossen for giving the CONTINENT OF MEDIA and
WORLD OF RADIO schedules on the June 7 RVI Radio World, Sun 1235 on
15545, weak but audible here. Some other DX shows and publications
ignore the info I send them periodically, or delete all info about COM!

BRAZIL - RNB's English service on 15445 noted at 1230 June 16 with very
distorted FM spurs on 15390, 15500; what a shame this station which had
such big plans has come to this (George Thurman, TX) Maybe not every
day, but I reported exactly the same thing a few months ago (Glenn
Hauser, REVIEW OF INTERNATIONAL BROADCASTING / GH SW/DX Report 98 27
June 18)

BULGARIA - The PanIview guys, who do a good job of keeping track of
other stations' variations, may want to note this: R. Bulgaria DX
program in English at 1153 June 6, including SWBC DX tips,  found on
15175.9 hetting Greece on 15175.0 whose signal increased during the show
as it was about to start NAm service. RB went off at 1200:30*. June 8
recheck at 1155, RB back on 15175.0 (Glenn Hauser, OK / GH SW/DX Report
