A.I.R. DX MEETING - With the great loss of our President, next A.I..R.
(Associazione Italiana Radioascolto) DX Meeting will be held here in
Italy on May 1, 2 and 3 1998 in Sirolo, Marche Region. More news soon.

EDXC - The 36 th annual European DX Council conference will be held from
27 to 30 August 1998. The conference venue will be the Radio Museum in
Gothenburg, Sweden, with accomodation in near by hotels. The conference
programme includes a get togeter party on Thursday 27 evening, opening
ceremonies and reception on Friday 28, a visit to the special Longwave
station facilities in Grimeton as well as banquet on Saturday 29 and
closing ceremonies on Sunday 30. More news soon. (Play DX # 966 Jan. 26

channel, even with Caribbean Beacon thankfully missing: R Tirana
(presumably moved from 6100) strong in Albanian on 6089.98; R
Bandeirantes or R Esperanza mixing in as well but essentially blocked.
Kaduna was stronger than I've hrd it in some time; off-air next day,

//4860 and 3365. Was checking out other Indians at 1236, and noticed the
nx had ended on 4860 as a M was hrd then. Rechecked 3390 and found what
sounded like a different W tlking. So obviously went back to lcl pgming
which is consistant w/regional AIR format. Poor but best hrd since the
Mahalo DXpedition last year. It was still in at 1300 but was fading
quickly and barely any audio to speak of. It was a good subcont. morning
w/many others hrd as well as 4880 Bangladesh, 4902 Sri Lanka, and 4790.4
