[HCDX]: NEWS: North Korea
NORTH KOREA
Pyongyang BS on 6250 was heard being heavily jammed by South Korea
0400-0600 (1-3 p.m.) on Nov. 4. First serious jamming heard during local
daytime. Other frequencies (//3250, 3320, 6400) were not jammed.
Radio Pyongyang in Japanese on 7580 and 9650 from 0700 on Nov. 4 had poor
audio that sounded like it was being jammed, but the artificial noise was
clearly // with their own jammer against the clandestine Voice of People
(from South Korea) on 6520. Some of North Korea's jammers are so strong,
their noise gets mixed up with Pyongyang's own broadcasts. He who spits on
the sky spits on himself.
Radio Pyongyang in Japanese has lately been very often absent on 6520 and
7580 during evening transmissions 1100-1400. Only 3250 (which uses
Pyongyang BS transmitter) and 6070 (shares transmitter with KCBS 6100) stay
on when the other two are off. Power shortage?
Frontline Soldiers Radio (1613, 2625, 3025, all variable) has been inactive
for two weeks since last observed Oct. 21 on 1613.
