to hard-core-dx@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx:
The following unidentified AM stations have been heard in March 1996
in Finland by DXer Mika Makelainen. I would appreciate any help on the
identity of these stations.
North America:
800 kHz a US(?) station broadcasting in Spanish. A spot for
"Laboratorio Santo Remedio, P.O.Box 2817, codigo
postal 90078", with a 1-800 phone number was heard.
Based on conditions, this is from the East Coast.
880 kHz from the US West Coast, broadcasting in Spanish,
announcing only a mysterious "PRV". Conditions
favored Oregon, so I would guess KWIP Dallas OR,
		but not sure.
1490 kHz	from US in Spanish with a slogan "Radio Fiesta". Based
on conditions at the time, must be West of the
Rockies. Slightly later I identified KBKR Baker OR and
KEYG Grand Coulee WA on this frequency.
South America:
640 kHz a Venezuelan station identifying as "Union Radio",
listing frequences: "... dial 1090 en Caracas, 1110 en
el centro del pais, 640 en el oriente Venezolano e
islas del Caribe." Is this the same as or former Ondas
		Portenas? Address?
1580 kHz	a Venezuelan station identifying only as "Radio
Rumbos, la emisora de Venezuela". A new station, a new
name or a new slogan? Location?
1590 kHz a Latin American, presumably Colombian (UTC -5 hrs)
		station identifying as "Radio Uno".
Asia:
891.11 kHz	an unlisted Philippino identifying as "DWAR". This was
heard already in October 1995, but still I haven't
seen any information on the station. Has been heard in
		Sweden as well.
If you have any further information on these stations, please e-mail
me directly at mtm@xxxxxxxxx
73 and thanks,
