[IRCA] TP DX in Seattle on Sept 16

Low-band Asians were quite weak today, with a small number of pathetic little carriers barely poking above the noise. The middle and upper parts of the dial fared a bit better. There was audio on a few channels, although none were particularly impressive.

There were also a few Alaskans. KNOM and KICY made their first appearances of the season, and KFQD briefly gave the Portland station a run for its money.

GOOD - I could understand most of it for a brief period
750 KFQD, PSA, "KFQD news time 5:13", Anchorage weather, more IDs 1313 mixing with KTXJ

FAIR - A native speaker would have understood a few words
780 KNOM, ID mixing with KKOH 1300, then ABC news by both stations with slight echo between them
850 KICY, Christian music & partial ID mixing with KHHO 1300
972 HLCA, man and woman in Korean among much splatter 1320
1566 HLAZ, Piano music & Japanese talk 1327
1575 VOA, Yankee Doodle & English ID 1330, then woman in Khmer

POOR - A native speaker would have said "forget it"
981 Occasional syllables in the CKNW splatter 1328, probably CNR1
1287 Phone conversation 1328, probably Japan
1323 Woman in presumed Russian 1324, probably CRI

CARRIERS
693 738 756 774 1017 1053 1179 1206 1242 1305 1314 1332 1341 1377 1386 1413 1422 1476
