[IRCA] Puyallup WA Ultralight TP's for 11-3 (Conclusion)

Hello All,

Yes, Nick, it was quite an exceptional late surge by 603-Hulun Buir, as well as by 639-CNR1 and 738-BEL2 this morning (all leading to their best-ever signals here). The late surge by the low-band Chinese was one of the highlights of the season here, and one can only imagine how good the ocean cliff propagation was for Guy at "Rockwork 4" this morning. The session started off with a bang again around 1300, with 738-BEL2 already in a good-level snarl with a Mainland Chinese co-channel. The early session also featured 558-HLQH with its seasonal best signals (good level) playing American pop music at 1343 // 603-HLQH, which was also in a good-level snarl with 603-China throughout the early session. The potent low-band signals during the early session were also shared by 531-JOQG, 648-VOR and 657-Pyongyang, and of course the usual big guns on 594, 693, 747, 774, 828 and 972 were very strong (in and out) from 1300-1400. The low-band propagation benefits early in the session did no!
t extend to the middle or high band Asians, though, which were all of fairly average strength. Among the second-tier Asians on the middle band, only 1017-CRI and 1044-CRI were managing fair to good signals during this period.

Low-band Asian propagation was above average but still fairly routine until around 1430, when the floodgates to China seemed to open. Although 603-HLSA had been dominating the frequency over 603-China until that time, the Chinese station suddenly faded in with exceptional strength, leaving HLSA way down in the noise until the band folded. At 1445 the signal from 603-China was the strongest it's ever managed here, with a Chinese YL monologue sounding like something worthy of an ocean beach. The same thing was happening with 639-CNR1, pegging the PL-380 S/N display for the first time ever at 1448. A few minutes earlier 738-BEL2 apparently got a boost from the same Chinese propagation wave, hitting its own best-ever signals around 1438 (// a very weak 1143). 657-Pyongyang (chose to China) also got a serious boost for its bizarre female vocal music at 1447. Wondering whether the low-band Chinese bonanza extended all over the band, I checked 756, 918, 927, 936, 963, 981 and 1035 !
for any potent signals--,but of all these only 936-Anhui (presumed) had any real strength with its music program at 1450. As such, the exceptional Chinese propagation during the late session definitely was limited to the low band-- most clearly evident in the legendary signals from 603-China and 639-CNR1. It will be interesting to find out if Guy experienced the same "Chinese Surge" during his "Rockwork 4" ocean cliff DXpedition this morning.
