[IRCA] TP 26 Aug; Victoria version

There was more to this morning than appeared at first glance, with a couple of second string Japanese popping up. Any DU later were pretty underpowered, in fact JOUB's call ID at 1320UT was on its own, no sign of 3LO, just lots of domestic splatter.

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly):

not quite, though 279 and 1566 came close today

Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

279 R. Rossii mention heard at 1200UT, but didn't get to this strength until 1222UT, w/woman in RR 954 JOKR woman in JJ interspersed w/pop mx, battling w/splatter, surprise of the morning
972 HLCA man and woman in KK 1216UT
1566 HLAZ choral mx 1235UT, man in JJ 1251UT

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker:

594 JOAK man in JJ 1302UT
747 JOIB EE lessons 1207UT
774 JOUB EE lessons 1219UT, possibly better than this at some point, but I didn't catch it.
828 JOBB JJ talk by man 1251UT
1053 KK jammer at its "best" 1201UT
1575 VoA "Voice of America broadcasting from Washington, DC" popped through at 1259UT

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music) :

153 R. Rossii man in RR //279 1223UT
189 R. Rossii likely, man talking RR inflection
234 R. Rosii light female vocal mx //279 1224UT
738 vocal pop mx 1208UT; Tahiti?
891 JOHK woman in JJ //594 1301UT
1242 rock mx 1304UT
1287 woman talking JJ inflection, 1254UT
1323 man talking 1251UT, too much splash to guess at language

Strongish het, no or "near imaginary"audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter):

567 1134 1269 1503

best wishes,

Nick
