[IRCA] TP's & DU's for Saturday, October 27, 2012

It was a good weird Saturday morning here in Kalama, WA. Think I might have received Fiji on 558. I didn't realize I hadn't switched the antenna from the NW ewe while hearing a weak signal for 10 minutes with island music and women singing. By the time I realized what I was doing and switched to the SW ewe, the signal had faded. Checking the channel many times after the signal faded, JOCR was heard at 1429 & 1448. No signal from JOIK 567 the next channel up which has been heard 16 times this season with JOCR being heard 6 times this season up to 10/10/2012 for both stations. 3 Chinese stations also heard this morning.
A nice reception boost on this rainy Saturday morning. Listened from 1300-1502.  Does anyone know the sign-off time of the NHK2 stations? Would be great to record the music box chimes during sign-off.

153   RUSSIA, Radio Rossii 1337 poor signal with man in Russian. NW ewe. 10/27/2012

189   RUSSIA, Radio Rossii 1300 good signal with Radio Rossii ID by man. HPAW. 10/27/2012

279   RUSSIA, Radio Rossii 1308 weak signal with man in Russian.  NW ewe. 10/27/2012

394   ALASKA, Kodiak KAK 20 1311 weak signal with weather forecast. HPAW. 10/27/2012

558   FIJI? Radio Fiji 1? 1340-1350 guessing to be station with weak signal at best with moderate splatter. Women singing island music. Sounded like continuous music for 10 minutes straight. Splatter really hampered signal. I have never heard Fiji at any location. Faded out 1351. Antenna switch was on NW-ewe, since last station heard was Radio Rossii on 153.  Surely would have better on W-SW ewe. 10/27/2012
