[IRCA] TP's & DU's for Friday, September 07, 2012

Long wave down again this morning. Strongest TP MW was only a fair signal. With the exception of HLAZ 1566 it was all low channel action. Radio Polynesie was in with a good signal at 1332 and 4NR was also good with instrumental music matching the live stream. Think I might have received the New Zealand station the "Breeze" on 891 with 60's pop song. Another fun morning. 

153     RUSSIA, Radio Rossii 1155-1200 very poor signal with woman singing. Radio Rossii ID 1159. Did not hear pips at 1200. Moderate static.

209     ALASKA, Yakataga CYT 1213-1214 weak signal with weather forecast.

567     JAPAN, JOIK NHK1 1319 fair signal with woman in Japanese. // 594. Best on SW ewe, less splatter from domestics.

594     JAPAN, JOAK NHK1 1241 weak signal with music. 

684     UNKNOWN 1322-1330 weak signal with woman singing slowly in unknown language. Not NHK1, did not match JOIK //. Best on SW ewe.

693     JAPAN, JOAB NHK2 1255 very weak signal with bits of Japanese audio getting through. 

738     TAHITI, Radio Polynesie 1252 fair signal with man in French and heavy KCBS splatter. Sky wire loop. Good signal at 1317 with Child talking in French followed by man with piano music in background. Still good at 1332 with woman singing in French. Slight splatter. 

774     JAPAN, JOUB NHK2 1219 poor with end of program music. Heavy KTTH splatter. 1221 fair signal with "English Radio Conversation" program.

792     AUSTRALIA, 4NR ABC National 1341-1343 good signal with slight splatter and instrumental music. Matched live stream from ABC national.

819     Level 5 het. Second time noticed this week. Heard on the NW & SW ewes. KGNW splatter.

828     JAPAN, JOBB NHK2 1259 very weak with woman/man in Japanese. 

828     AUSTRALIA, 3GI ABC? 1332-1336 fair signal at times with DU accented voice. JOBB gone, best on SW ewe. 1338 back again with news talk and fair signal.

891     NEW ZEALAND,? Breeze? 1348-1351 weak signal but steady for 3 minutes. Popular 60's song by women vocalists (unknown to me) Did not match 5AN live stream or Racing programming that 4TAB carries. Seems to fit the Breeze format. Of course faded after the song and Imus popped in from Idaho on 890.  

1566    REPUBLIC OF KOREA, HLAZ 1207-1209 very weak signal. Program in Chinese.
