[IRCA] TP Sept 1, 2012 / Victoria version

Still quite poor conditions when I checked from 1250UT onwards, except for a loud snippet from HLAZ and something mysterious on 1674 about 1330UT.

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least
briefly):

1566 HLAZ at 1314UT, peaking after really not doing very well (mostly carrier). Two women in JJ, one elderly sounding (it was good enough to tell that quality in the voice), a drama of some sort? Also popped up with poor signal, as late as 1331, woman w/JJ inflected talk. Sometimes this seems to have a pipeline to here, when nothing else is being heard.

reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a
native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

nope

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be
understood by a native speaker:

1674 unID. 1332UT Light instrumental mx, then female vocals fading up quite rapidly to a poor, sometimes almost fair level. Then a man talking, maybe, just maybe, saying "...FM 16...." Will have to listen to the recording more.

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by
cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music) :

612 vocal mx at 1317, 4QR? not //738
738 talk by woman at 1317, couldn't guess at language
774 mx and slow talk by man at 1305, so two stations, as 828 seemed to have the slow talk only; guessing that was NHK2, though except for HLAZ, little other sign of Asia by this time today
828 slow talk seemingly //774. JOBB?
972 man talking at 1309, no clue as to language. This seemed a somewhat more DU morning, so possibly not HLCA

Strongish het, no audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter):

819 882 1008 1098

best wishes,

Nick
