[IRCA] TP's & DU's for Saturday, August 25, 2012

Scanned the long wave band this morning and came up with 7 Alaskan weather forecast stations. Nothing from HLAZ 1566 this morning. Not even a het on the channel. Other TP's heard and VOA the next channel up was in. Are they off the air? Audio being heard on 1701 with singing along with XEPE splatter at 1322 utc.

153     RUSSIA, Radio Rossii 1213-1215 good signal with not any static. Man in Russian followed classical music song.

180     RUSSIA, Radio Rossii 1216-1217 weak signal with static. Classical music.

189     RUSSIA, Radio Rossii 1218 good signal with slight static and man in Russian.

209     ALASKA, Yakataga 1220 steady weak signal with weather forecast.

234     ALASKA, Radio Rossii 1243 steady weak signal with man in Russian. QRM from beacon.

279     RUSSIA, Radio Rossii 1221-1223 good signal slight static with Classical music.

355     ALASKA, KCK 35 King Salmon 1225-1227 fair signal with weather forecast.

358     ALASKA, KAW 27 Sitka 1232 weather forecast for Alaska. Weak signal with QRM for beacon.

379     ALASKA, WSX 70 Kenai 1236 weather forecast with weak signal.

394     ALASKA, KAK 20 Kodiak 1238 weather forecast for Kodiak area with fair signal.

411     ALASKA, KAI 82 Ilamna 1241 weak with weather forecast.

738     TAHITI, Radio Polynesie 1317 fair signal with woman in French. Best on Sky wire loop.

774     JAPAN, JOUB NHK2 1250 fair signal with man/woman in Japanese along with moderate splatter from KTTH.

828     JAPAN, JOBB NHK2 1251 very weak signal with Japanese and more splatter than usual.  

1044    Level 5 het at 1306. Best on SW ewe.

1053    REPUBLIC OF KOREA, 1254 jammer on top of channel weak signal at times.

1062    UNKNOWN, 1303 poor signal with audio, but could not made out language. NW & SW ewe's. Better on SW ewe.

1503    UNKNOWN, 1309-1313 weak audio at time with moderate splatter. SW ewe.

1566    REPUBLIC OF KOREA, 1255-1256 where is HLAZ? No even a het, this is prime time for them. Off the air?

1575    THAILAND, VOA 1245-1248 weak signal with man followed by woman in Lao (PALs) Heard on both NW & SW ewe's. 

1701    AUSTRALIA, 1322-1321 weak audio with man singing, can not make out language. Some XEPE splatter. Music sounds like Opera. 1322
XEPE splatter wiping out the weak audio that was woman singing.
