Re: [IRCA] NE Oregon, Friday (no) TPs

Interestingly, the topband list (160m amateur radio operators) has recent reports of good long haul (including long path) DX.

Most nights there are very weak MW TA carriers here in western Canada, which indicate low geomagnetic activity, but they never develop. Guess our frequencies are too low to take advantage of the quiet geomagnetic conditions of the last while. We need the low solar activity as well; and maybe it being some time other than midwinter (as in anomaly, which doesn't seem as dominant on 160m as it is on MW).

best wishes,

Nick

It was the worst morning that I can remember. No MW audio only a poor het on 738, 891, 1548. Usually there are at least weak hets on many channels. Also normally from about 1100 kHz up the N/S wire gets the best signals, but not today. E/W was best everywhere, indicating odd conditions going on at MW.
