Re: [IRCA] IRCA 81-29-#5---So how was DXing in 2010?

Hi Barry ,from Bill in Vic BC. How was Dxing in 2010? Could have been better, could have been worse.I didn't get enough time in but enjoyed the better moments of alone time to do some scanning so all around not bad I guess with the start of 2010  (I think) giving me a chance to hear a few TPs on just plain jane equipment from a noisy apartment. I had to do most of my listening outside in wireless areas such as parks. Conditions now are favourable with the cool temps here especially in late afternoons before all the daytimers cut back or sign off for the night. In your report I see that the two news stations - 690 & 940-in Montreal are gone again. Did they move to FM (like the previous operators -CBC - did after the big ice storm) or just went silent permanently? Any idea what the reason was this time? I guess you might try for the CBC here on the west coast with 690 open.Well so far 2011 is having some better days for what I'm doing and that's mainly
daytime dx but I only wish I had more time and my own computer with internet and then there are all these bothersome interruptions like evening work, sleep, people who aren't into radio, etc. But I try to make the best of it while I can. Better luck this year. Bill in BC
