Re: [IRCA] Tecsun PL-606 DSP Receiver Review

Hi Pete,

The FM performance of the new PL-606 is excellent, as it is in almost all
of the new Si4734 DSP-chip Ultralight radios. Because of dramatic
breakthroughs in the DSP chip design, the FM sensitivity and selectivity are almost
in a different league, in comparison to traditional portables.

The new PL-606 also includes a clever screw-on plastic clamp attachment, to
extend the length of the whip antenna from 22.25" up to 38.25". This also
provides a significant boost in FM sensitivity, making the radio the
Ultralight radio class leader in weak-signal FM performance. Some of the FM
stations received from Puyallup (not too far from you) are listed in the
competitive test section of the PL-606 review article.
