[IRCA] Puyallup, WA Ultralight TP's for 11-10

Hello All,

It's nice to be in complete agreement with Richard and Bill that this
morning's Asian propagation was improved over yesterday, with a healthy
sunrise enhancement here producing many vibrant TP signals. The Asian "big
guns" were generally restored to their normal strong levels, although some
mystery co-channels pestered them on certain frequencies (a typical quirk of
late-season TP propagation).
The Korean "big gun" 972-HLCA has been fighting a battle with an UnID
station (apparently Chinese, because of rare Chinese speech) with an
English study format from 1430-1530 the past week, although there don't seem to
be any reports of such a station format in the PAL, or other recent
loggings. A slow English speech format was heard on the station six days ago
during one of its rare dominant periods, and it has been pestering HLCA heavily
on mornings with good propagation. Another interesting signal was
657-Pyongyang's huge carrier with apparent puny modulation, having the high audio
frequencies seemingly reduced by a transmitter issue. 738-BEL2 (Taiwan
Fisheries) had another excellent signal this morning with its typical Chinese pop
music, and most of the Asian powerhouses were still going strong at 1520,
when DXing was cut short here. Hopefully this vibrant transoceanic
propagation will continue at least until tonight, allowing a few TA's to make
return appearances to western Washington and BC.

The following were heard on a C.Crane SWP Slider model (7.5"
loopstick), inductively coupled to a 9' sided PVC tuned passive loop (in the back
yard). A modified ICF-2010 (30" loopstick) was used as an SSB spotting
receiver:

language lessons on the NHK2 "big guns"
