[IRCA] Puyallup, WA Ultralight TP's for 10-25

Hello All,

<< As Albert Einstein once said, insanity is doing the same thing over and
over, and expecting different results each time. I'm not sure what that
says about our hobby >> Bruce
Bruce, Maybe the 2010 Fall Season version of this principle is
getting up eagerly every morning to chase TP's, always staying optimistic that
they will somehow be as strong and numerous as they were during last year's
Fall Season? :-)
It was another "low average" Asian morning at best here, with a few
Japanese "big guns" producing decent audio, but little else. Asiatic
propagation started off with fair signals at 1300, which proceeded to dive into
the noise in unison around 1330 (like yesterday). Sunrise enhancement
started around 1400, and brought fair-good signals from 594-JOAK, 747-JOIB and
828-JOBB, with 1134-JOQR following the Japanese "big gun" trend in the middle
band. 558-HLQH, 657-Pyongyang, 738-BEL2 and 972-HLCA made occasional fair
appearances, and 936-Anhui (presumed) managed a few moments at threshold
audio. The lackluster band continued to offer weak TP's until around 1450,
although by that time only 594-JOAK was managing any strength. Hopefully this
extended, mediocre propagation is related to the unfavorable solar
indexes, and not an indication that the underwhelming Fall Season is taking an
early swoon.

The following were heard on a C.Crane SWP Slider model (7.5"
loopstick) inductively coupled to a 6' sided "Nasty Weather" PVC tuned passive loop
(replacing the 9' loop because of heavy rain in the back yard this
morning):

558 HLQH Daegu, S. Korea (presumed) Weak music at 1411, but
603-HLSA // not available for ID confirmation
594  JOAK  Tokyo, Japan  Fair-good JJ conversation from  1400-1450;
         choral music interlude at 1445

657 Pyongyang BS, N. Korea Poor-fair Korean shouting rising above
the noise during maximum sunrise enhancement (around 1430)
738 BEL2 Penghu, Taiwan Fair Chinese talk program at 1420
747 JOIB Sapporo, Japan Fair-good Radio English Conversation
program (in KXL splatter) at 1356

774 JOUB Akita, Japan Fair-good Radio Chinese program occasionally
making it through KTTH splatter around 1415
828 JOBB Osaka, Japan Weaker than 774 // at 1416, but easier to
         copy because of clear frequency
936 Anhui, China (presumed) Threshold music audio at 1412
972 HLCA Dangjin, S. Korea Weak Korean speech at maximum dawn
         enhancement (around 1430)
1134 JOQR Tokyo, Japan Fair-good Japanese speech rising above
domestic splatter at 1405, but gone by 1415

73 and Good DX,
Gary DeBock
