Re: [IRCA] NE Oregon TPs, Friday

Hi Steve,

Thanks for the rundown of the DU's in NE Oregon on Friday.

I was indeed listening carrefully for DU's on Friday morning in your home
state (at Lincoln Beach), and found it fantastic. DXing with a C.Crane SWP
Slider (with the Murata filter installed by you) inductively coupled to a
new 4' portable PVC Loop, I made nice MP3's of 558-Radio Fiji One (all
alone), a solid recording of an ABC station on 846 kHz (with ABC ID), and a
strong 1017 kHz mix of Radio Tonga island music and the 2KY Australian horse
racing station (with both alternating in dominance). Both John B. and I had
received 1017-Radio Tonga before at Grayland, but I'm pretty sure that the
other 3 stations had never been previously received by ULR's on the west
coast. Many other nice DU's also showed up again, like 603-Radio Waatea in NZ.

The LW conditions were also great, with the new stand-alone 7.5" LW
loopstick PL-380 solidly receiving all 5 Radio Rossii LW-TP's (153, 180, 189, 234
and 279 kHz) yesterday morning, with 4 nice MP3's made. I plan to write up
the full DXpedition report (and upload various MP3's) shortly, but as far
as DU propagation to Lincoln Beach, the vacation was all I could have hoped
for. Oregon state is great! :-)

I predict if Gary DeBock was listening this morning at the Oregon coast
that
he had super reception of DUs, as even far inland here they were much
better
than usual. Many MW hets. 585 very poor DU talk; 702 poor EE pop  music;
738
poor EE pop music; 792 very poor DU talk; 891 the best with medium DU talk
presumed 5AN; 1116 weak DU talk presumed 4BC, all in the 1305-1320 utc
time.
891 the last to fade away around 1320. Big het on 1071, don't remember
that
before.
Far East Russia, Radio Rossii good this morning, 153, 180, 189, 234, 279
at
1200 utc.
