Re: [IRCA] TA on Orcas Island

Weak audio on 1053 on the u shaped fence antenna and weaker on the
NW ewe. Man talking then faded. Could make out that it was a man,
but could not ID language. 0439 utc. Sounds like two carriers when
set radio in CW mode.

Subject: [IRCA] TA on Orcas Island

I've never tried TAs here on Orcas... I'm on a west-facing
cliff/steep mountainside, with roick to my back and the only antenna
points WNW or ESE... I just couldn't resist a few minutes ago and
found hets across the lower part of the dial from 531.... They would
go away with the antenna faced the other way, so I think that they
were legit. The only one that broke into real audio was a male EE
speaker at strength 6.6. I'm calling this baby TalkSport 1053.

My current WNW antenna has almost a full 180 degree forward lobe,
though the mountain cuts me off about 005 degrees.
