Generally, this statement will bring out the curmudgeon in many, Saul, who will say it's bunk, particularly if it refers to transmitting antennas (cf "crossed-field antenna").  There is no "magnetic wave" from a distant station that isn't a component of an electro-magnetic wave...

Unless you have a few hundred dollars to spend on the off chance, it's probably wisest to head off to your nearest loop antenna which responds to the magnetic component of the electro-magnetic wave and leave it at that.
