Yes, the ALA 100 totally outperforms all of my other antennae, including my "infamous" Asia Conti corner-fed loop.  Whereas 279 might be a weak 6 at best with it, the ALA has a 7+ signal.  Up to the low MW band, the ALA outperforms anything else I have.  It's dimensions at the moment are 10' a side, and elevated about 20' off the ground above my garage hidden in the maple in the back corner.  I plan on doubling the loop sometime soon....ie 2 loops around instead of one for increased gain as well.  The only downside that I see is it's not as directional as the Conti loop, so suffers more adjacent splatter from the domestics.......Walt.
