[IRCA] Ewe antenna question

Whist adjusting the resistor on my ewe antenna I noticed that lightly 
touching the antenna wire produced a significant dip in the reception of 
an unwanted signal, leaving others signals unchanged. I assume that this 
is down to introducing capacitance into the system.

Other than remaining outside and holding onto the antenna, how can I 
make this capacitance a permanent feature?
