Here's one way think of the situation - she was 92 years old and died at
home. Probably rather quickly and suddenly. It's always unpleasant to find
someone in such a situation, and age and such do not diminish sense of loss
or your feelings stemming from all of this, but this may be as good as one's
inevitable end will get. I have very elderly friends who live in the
country, and they want to live out their years there, to the very end,
rather than in a nursing home, seniors home, or hospital. This likely means
the first to go will be found by their survivor, and that someone else will
later find the survivor. Or maybe they will 'go' together - that happens.
When I was working at daily newspapers as a reporter, the one thing I hated
more than anything was car wrecks, ambulance chasing, etc... and to this day
I think many of these stories are overdone in the news or at least often
done in an inappropriately entertaining way. (Now I'm freelance and report
stories I want to cover).
Anyhow, Patrick, you've just performed a valuable service. Your neighbour's
son probably suspected deep down what happened, and your easy availability
and quick work hastened his inevitable discovery, and he wasn't alone at the
time.

Thank you Walt. I was hoping for your comments, being a Doctor. I don't
have it in me to deal with such things on a regular basis. As it is, I
should be in bed as it is 1:16 AM, and I only got 5:45 of sleep last
night. I went to bed at 2:00 AM, but tossed and turned until about 3:30.
Then I woke up at 9:15 So it was a rough night. Lucille was a nice lady.
She will be missed.
