Re: [IRCA] UNID TIS 540

Gary,

It was great meeting you and your family too! Thanks so much for the
Sony S5W. A great little radio. I have had a chance to compare it to the
Super Radio 1 and it is a hair better in many cases as the selectivity
is sharper. The Sensitivity is close to the same. In tuning in KSTP 1500
on the two radios last night. Often KSTP would be clearer on the ICF
S5W, than on the SR 1 as there was less QRM from mega-giant KGA 1510.
On the R8 the Eastern beverage had an edge, but not as much as you would
think. I have to agree the Sony ICF S5W is one great little unit. Thanks
again! Much appreciated.
Thanks for the info on Castle Rock. OK, that makes sense. I fiqured
it had to be over in the I-5 area per the signal and direction. That
1500' beverage seems to be working pretty good.
The next time you come over, stop by the house and I will show you my
set up.. I am sorry I did not have much time yesterday, but at least we
did have a nice visit.

Patrick
