Re: [IRCA] This morning's 810 surprise

I ought to have my head examined on this one. Correct time is 6:15 a.m.,
not 8:15. I should have known better, since I was sitting where it is
necessary for me to sit on any school morning at that time, and it's the
only time I have to DX, using my Radio Shack multi-band portable, of course.
Anyway, they were here again this morning, tho' not as strong.

Group:

Dropped by 810 this morning at 8:15 EDT expecting WPIN, which has
become rather a pest lately. Instead...

810 WJJQ WI Tomahawk well over everything in WGY null w/Wisconsin state
nx, stories about crime in Milwaukee & fishing in L. Michigan, spots for a
hardware store in Tomahawk & Nakoma's Restaurant, "On hwy. 107 just N. of
Tomahawk." Left & returned a couple minutes later to find them carrying
Mike & Mike/ESPN. Do they really have all of 930 watts? WI #27 here.

I probably shouldn't be surprised. WI does unusually well around here.
WRRD often owns 540 at night, WISN is easier than WDFN, and on 1440, where
WAJR gets in w/a vy. Weak signal all day, I often hear WNFL blasting in at
about Green Bay sunrise--that is, when I don't already have WJJL blasting
in. On the other hand, TX stations are rare as hen's teeth here, whereas
when I lived in central Illinois, I logged them on just about every
frequenty, including all the tiny ones on 1510!

BTW, my most heard state here is NC, w/116 stations logged. That's 2 ahead
of Ohio. From there, TN, 107, VA, 95, KY, 91, PA, 85, WV & MI, 61.
