A superb morning here on the west coast! I haven't heard this activity since the fall (except up north). Things began with really nice signals in English on 531, something I don't hear often at home, presumably an Australian (fellas which Aussie is usually heard here?). Too bad I only monitored from 13:52 UTC. I can just imagine how good things would be at Grayland and Patrick's location. Virtually every channel had at least a 4 or 5 signal. The JJ NHK1 stations didn't seem very strong, nor were the NHK2 all that good either. There just seemed to be a little of everything right across the band from bottom to top. I packed it in around 14:25. Here were my audios:

531, 558, 567, 576, 594, 666, 702, 774, 828, 846, 855, 963, 972, 1044, 1134, 1143, 1242, 1269, 1278, 1287, 1323, 1404, 1422, 1467, 1475 (a nice signal at 14:24 from Malaysia), 1476 (2 stations 200 Hz apart), 1494, 1503, 1512, 1566, 1575, and 1593. Not a bad catch at all! I noticed that my ALA 100 performs best on the bottom of the band, while the K9AY outperforms the ALA above about 650 kHz. There was a lot of domestic splatter today. Yuk! I'm sure I would have added another 10 or 20 audios if not for that. Also my Dell Latitude power supply causes some hash at the bottom of the band, so I need to run on batteries to avoid that.

One last thing. I'm listening to WYFR on 7165 now. Can't make out 5920, so you might wish to check this as a // to 1557. ..........Walt.
