Definitely the lower band was better here than it has been in some
time, with JOUB still delivering audio at 1600UT; 15 minutes earlier
it was very listenable, and the strongest audio heard this
morning. Your 738 Japanese logging is very nice indeed, Dennis.

Audio also noted on 594, 756, 747and 828, the latter two quite good
levels, with carriers all over the place. But I'd been at the radio
briefly at 1320UT. The low band carriers were generally stronger
then, and 972 had audio as well as the NHK2 stations.

The upper band was not quite as good as yesterday and fading somewhat
more as the hour approached, but still not too bad. 1503 (JJ), 1557
(Taiwan with deep voiced EE speaker presumably; can't find a parallel
for that guy anywhere unfortunately) and 1566 delivered the best
audio, but traces noted on 1278, 1287 and 1575 as well. After
1600UT, further audio traces on 1269 and 1305 also. Local sunrise
was about 1550UT here, so nice to see the sun, and be hearing DX fade
up, even if not far enough for an ID.

"Calgary's #1 source of sports scores" now banging in on 960 (another
Bill Kral find), so could spend the rest of the morning daytime
DXing, but chores call. They include putting the new antenna support
back up on a sunny and windless winter day, so some of it will be productive.

best wishes,

Nick
