Paul Swearingen and Bob Young, among numerous others, have mentioned and
speculated about the fuzzy, "fluttery", mixture-of-two-or-more-tones
quality on this thing... I noticed that last night.  And like others, I
can attest that it's a full double-sideband signal running 1kHz audio
tone, as it sounds the same in upper- and lower-sideband using either
ECSS or the sync detector on the Sony 7600GR.
