Re: [IRCA] Alaskans

Patrick,

The Grundig overloads rather easily, and I have to find a narrow beam where I can get through the locals (when possible). Sometimes the beam is to increase the strength of the target, and sometimes to decrease the strength of the interference. 750 isn't as bad as many others, but it is dominated by KXL to the north and KOAL to the east. If I use an angle that would be appropriate for KFQD, that brings in KAMA. 1110 is pretty well owned by KDIS on anything near N/S, though I can occasionally get KBND. If I go east, I can often get KFAB, but the KAGV beam would approximate KDIS as well. Often when I try for KENI, I get Mexico instead. A try for KYUK usually brings in Mexico also. I'd give my left........uh, shift key for a environment where the house AC doesn't create so much noise that I could use the R-388 and the loop.

Roseville is definnitely off, so I won't go off on a tangent thinking that I'm getting China anymore. I never learned, and I got bent at myself on a regular basis.

  Mike,

You should hear KFQD if you can get by KCBS. I hear it nightly and I
have to deal with KXL 75 miles away. I wonder if you could catch KAGV
1110? Didn't Roseville go off on 1110?
