Yes the beverage has been a big help many times over, plus the DX Tests.
That is exactly how I logged Rhode Island (WARV-1590) and Maine
(WEGP-1390), with DX Tests and the beverage. Plus so many others. Last
year I got a QSL from a station I could only have dreamed about. The
station? WFIL-Philly. But thanks to great engineers like Rene' , getting
not one but two new ones from Philly was fantastic. The first one was
990. That was easier to log, but WFIL made my day. Heck, it made the
decade!
Thank goodness the calls had not changed either!
