[IRCA] TA season - Sierra Leone

Patrick,

I heard Sierra Leone 1205 here in California with their flute interval signal
prior to sign-on at 0600 UTC on 11/16/73 and again on 02/04/74. The only
other African I have heard is Senegal 764.
One station I will be looking for this season is Canary Islands on 621 kHz;
not quite African, but close to it. A carrier appeared here several times last
season at around 0230-0400 UTC, and once I heard audio that seemed to be
Spanish. It will require very careful listening, as 620 has Spanish from XESS
and Portuguese from KIGS.

Albert Lehr - Livermore, CA

Allied A-2515 receiver
Homebrew external sync detector
Frequency measurement system, phase-locked to WWVB on 60 kHz
Two 8x35x8 ft. Ewe antennas at 218 and 293 degrees
6 ft. outdoor loop
