The big thing with at least FM IBOC, is you can have several audio
sources within your carrier. So, a station that has one signal on FM
now, can have 4 or 5. So they look it at as "more money". In this day,
it all comes down to how much extra money can I make? If no money is
involved, then it goes away quickly. Ibiquity sold the broadcasters on
this idea back in the 90s. IBOC will save radio and you will have more
stations and you will have extra goodies like interactive things.If IBOC
does not make extra money, then it will go bye bye. I am betting is will
go the way of Quad.
