[IRCA] TP 21 Dec Victoria version.

Considering I was using rather compromised antennas (two supports broken in a squall yesterday afternoon, and not repaired--it was dark, and the weather was filthy), this morning wasn't bad. Things started to hum after 1530UT, and continued until well after 1600UT. Unfortunately, the intermittent local noise has also started to hum again, after a day off.

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly):

594 JOAK 1534UT

828 JOBB 1536UT

972 HLCA 1526 and 1543UT

Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling with splash or noise):

603 soft music typical of HLSA 1536UT, no parallel

639 CNR1 //945 1540UT and //6175 at 1610UT

774 JOUB 1521UT

945 CNR1 //639 1615UT

1566 HLAZ Russian talk by man, various peaks between 1633 and 1654UT; had faded down somewhat at 1700UT for "welcome to the Voice of America in Korean", and faded up more weakly several times after 1700UT also.

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker:

738 unID rock music 1533UT, faded down as woman started talking, didn't sound Chinese, more Korean or Japanese?

747 JOIB 1522UT

936 woman in Chinese, likely Anhui? 1541UT

1575 VoA likely, woman in SE Asian language 1542UT

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music)

567 JOIK //594 1601UT

657 man talking, seemed Korean? followed by orchestral music 1548UT

666 JOBK //594 1551UT

693 JOAB 1529UT

702 NHK2 //774 1526UT

702 operatic singing 1605UT, seemed parallel to 2850 (which was pretty rough also); likely N. Korea

711 HLKA pop music seemed //738 on Korean KiwiSDR 1539UT

837 man talking, Chinese intonation 1554UT

846 man talking, Chinese intonation 1545UT

954 man talking, Japanese? 1603UT

1089 CNR6 orchestral music //6165 1552UT

1098 CNR1 //945 1557UT

1242 woman talking, Japanese intonation 1520UT

1287 woman talking, Japanese intonation 1549UT

1575 Iran jammer 1547UT ; also noted 1603UT

Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter)

585 612 621 819 855  864  873 918 999  1053   1134 1215  1251 1269 1305  seemed to be Asian;
nothing much seemed to be DU

best wishes,

Nick
