I use a small family owned operation called islandnet.com -
for about 12$ (canadian) a month they have
spam/malware protection, shopping cart, web hosting,
PHP/PERL support, unlimited access to MySQL etc etc etc
domain registration yada yada yada.......

There are many small outfits like this.
