Re: [IRCA] September, 2017 Michigan BCB logs

For Mark and anyone else interested,

Nothing wrong with old-school paper logs but I migrated my Excel logs over
to mwlist.org several years ago. It's a web-based station database that
also allows logging, map plotting, distance and azimuth calculations, and
much more after registering (free). The database, sorted by frequency, can
then be filtered by country, state, bearing (useful when targeting stations
only from a particular direction from you, such as during an au opening),
etc. Logs can also be exported at any time to Excel for backup. I believe
there's also a way to export them to Google Earth. Logs are also
automatically plotted on a map for others to see. For example, here are my
Sept.10th auroral logs displayed on the map:

http://www.mwlist.org/mw_logmap.php?omid=194&datum=2017-09-10

As far as I know, mwlist.org doesn't have a simple way to auto-calculate GY
totals, but it's simply a matter of picking a GY frequency and counting the
number of stations that appear highlighted (logged) in the station list.

Email me offlist and I can provide more info, screenshots if needed, etc.

-Tim
