Not a great location for DX, nonetheless the following items were logged in
downtown Detroit (Marriott at the Renaissance Center), with C Crane Skywave

610 WTVN                     OH      Columbus â 11/20 0820 â potent
groundwave in downtown Detroit with Ohio Basement Authority ad, âNews radio
610 WTVN, an iHeartRadio stationâ. Still putting in a good groundwave at
mid-day.

       930     WEOL         OH      Elyria â 11/22 1557 â barely escaping
WWJ-950 IBOC crud with local news, âand now your WEOL weatherâ into local
forecast.

      1010     unID            --         - 11/22 1701 â someone with REL
format (KXEN-St. Louis on 50 kw day power?), fighting CFRB with USA Radio
news and gospel talk.

      1080     WNWI        IL        Oak Lawn â 11/23 1712 â presumed over
WTIC and WOAP with Polish religious-sounding talk.

      1250     WSSP          WI      Milwaukee â 11/20 0800 â over
religious talker (likely not CJYE) with âjoin us...at WSSP Milwaukeeâ ToH
ID into run-down of college football scores.

      1320     WOBL         OH      Oberlin â 11/22 1615 â over expected
Michigander WLIS-Lansing with local weather, promo for Christmas flea
market on Route 113 in Amherst into C&W.

      1360     WSAI          OH      Cincinnati â 11/22 1616 â over
expected Michiganders WKMI and WKYO with Proflowers.com ad, âFox Sports
1360â local traffic.

      1380     WBEL         IL        South Beloit â 11/20 0615 â over
near-local WPHM-Port Huron with âWBEL the big AM 1380â slogan into âSilence
is Goldenâ by the Tremeloes.

      1430     WEEF         IL        Deerfield â 11/22 1653 â presumed in
mix of news and sports talkers with Polish or other Slavic language talk,
man and woman alternating.

      1460     KXNO         IA       Des Moines â 11/22 1703 â over all
comers with ID as âthe sports fanaticâ1460 KXNOâ into local sports show
talking Iowa Hawkeyes football and basketball.

      1570     WFUR         MI      Grand Rapids â 11/23 1720 â alone on
frequency with religious talk, promo for FM //, âAM 1570 is now on the FM
dial at 92.9âWFURâ.

      1580     WJFK         MD     Morningside â 11/23 1700 â dominating
frequency as they used to in Toronto before CKDO with string of Ad Council
PSAs (USDA, FEMA, etc.), âSports radio 1580...WJFK AM Morningsideâ ToH ID.
Disappeared after 1702, presumably due to pattern change, and a weak CKDO
came up.

      1700     KBGG         IA       Des Moines â 11/23 1654 â now dominant
since demise of WRCR (now webcast-only) with Ace Hardware ad and station
promo â...listen now on 1700 KBGGâ.
