Re: [IRCA] [DXFlorida] Senate Bill Hobbles Weather Service

Tragically,

One could say this validates en Jefe's charge about 'fools, adventurers, and pirates', something about purchasing one's own noose. On bright side, mentioned earlier, weather could be gov profit center; different rates for varying levels of alerts & wx services. Freed up 162 band used for digital traffic texting, tips on preserving storm-killed corpses until Huracan cleanup workers collect them - 'pack 'em in a lotta lime' - other 'services'.

The drift does seem to be toward pay-per-info controlled access subscriber systems in specific, and third-worldism in general. Why does NWS provide weather to public at all? Unfriendlies could use storm prognostications to reverse-engineer weather radar methods. A dread revelation.
