[HCDX] Logs from NH-USA, Dec 5-7



The DXing possibilities here in New Hampshire are picking up with the approaching Winter Equinox.  Lots of Asian/S. E. Asian carriers across 60 & 41 meter bands, with hints of audio noted here during the predawn hours. Hopefully conditions will improve & the possibilities become reality.  

3250, HONDURAS, R. Luz y Vida San Luis, 1113-1120, Dec 5, English/Spanish. M ancr w/ Bible reading in EE; W ancr w/ SS translation; fair. (Barbour-NH)

3309.98, BOLIVIA, R. Mosoj Chaski Cochabamba, 0944-0958, Dec 6, Quecha. W announcer, briefly, between mx selections; M ancr from 0946-0949; weak but clear until wiped out at 0958 by huge ute splatter via 3312. (Barbour-NH)

4800, CHINA, CNR-1 Geermu, 1055-1102, Dec 7, Mandarin. Presumed ad string w/ various ancrs & mx bits; pips at ToH w/ CNR "jingle" mx & ID; M & W ancr followed; //5030-Beijing; both poor. (Barbour-NH)

4920, TIBET, Xijang PBS Lhasa, 114-1132, Dec 7, listed Tibetan. Announcer w/ talk between mx selections; presumed ID at BoH; fair at best & improving; //4905-poor. (Barbour-NH)

4940, INDIA, presumed AIR Guwahati, 1137-1202; Dec 7, vernacular. Announcer w/ brief talk between mx selections; W ancr at 1145 & more mx; again at ToH tho too weak by then for any chance of ID; fair-poor; becoming choppy w/ advancing N.H. sunrise.

4980, CHINA, presumed Xinjiang PBS Urumqi, 0204-0212, Dec 5, listed Uighur. Alternating M & W ancrs in unid. language; brief mx bit at 0210 & back to talk; buried under band noise & at times, heavy splash via 4985-Brazil; v. poor listening in ECCS-LSB. (Barbour-NH)

6005, RUSSIA, WYRF Komsomolsk-na-Amure, 1218-1232, Dec 7, listed Korean. M announcer w/ religious talk thru BoH; occasional Amens & unexpectedly, a passing mention of "You are the Lord" in English; fair-good. (Barbour-NH)

7235, THAILAND, R. Thailand Udon Thani, 1137-1146, Dec 5, listed Laotian. W announcer w/ talk; s/off ancment at 1142 followed by filler mx; IS at 1144*; back at *1145 w/ English ID & much weaker audio into listed Burmese; fair prior to lang switch. (Barbour-NH)

9970, BELGIUM, RTBF Int'l Wavre, 1220-1235, Dec 5, French. Two M announcers w/ talk; mx bit, single pip & W ancr w/ ID & ancment at 1230; ad string w/ "Happy Days" theme; jazz mx & M ancr at 1233; good. (Barbour-NH)

15120, NIGERIA, V. of Nigeria Ikorodu, 1705-1720, Dec 7, English. News re W. Sahara activits; U.N. aid to Zimbabwe; U.N. climate change conference; TC/ID at 1715 followed by report on climate conference w/ soundbites; fair though PBS control getting a workout to avoid huge splash via 15115-WYFR. 15205, SAUDI ARABIA, BSKSA Riyadh, 1722-1746, Dec 7, Arabic. Listed Holy Quran service; "live" M announcer w/ talk; studio ancr at 1724 w/ tentative ID, "Idha'at...al-arabiyah..." followed by Kor'an chanting thru t/out; good; //13710-poor. (Barbour-NH)
