[HCDX] Unidentified station on MW
Hi All,
Yesterday early morning(ie late 12th OCT,2009 around 2200 UTC) I heard a new signal on MW so I thought I should share with you.
The most unsusual signal I got today was an "Indonesian" language station on 1152
kHz.Interestingly there was hardly any fading.I listened to it patiently to get
a positive ID from the station but the station abruptly signed off at 2200 UTC
without any announcement !
What Im sure is that the language was indeed Bahasa Indonesia and there were
repeated references to "Radio Indonesia" although most Indonesian stations on
Shortwave refer to themselves as "Radio Republik Indonesia" !
I heard the station again today early morning(14 OCT,2009 local time)from 2000
UTC 13 OCT,2009 onwards.The station does announce itself as "Radio Indonesia" with continuos songs including English and Indonesian.The female announcer repeatedly said "Salaam Aleikum" and read out some names for song requests.
Besides this in between there was reference to "Western Union Money transfer" !
Perhaps the station/program is sponsored by Western Union.In between I heard "Middle East" .
>From the above I have concluded that the station is broadcasting for Indonesians
in the Middle East from a transmitter in Middle East.
It could be from UAE but I would still call it unidentified till it is
confirmed.
I call the stations which I have not been able to identify or whose no positive
ID is heard as "unidentified" .
Anyone has a positive ID of this station ?May be this has already been reported in some group.Just a confirmation is needed.
