Korea, South, 6155.00, KBS, 0900-1000, Just thought I'd follow up
on this to see if it was a regular because my current copy of
AOKI said this Japanese broadcast by KBS was from 0800 to
0900. Noted a female in Japanese language comments at tune.
Signal was threshold at tune in, and it would be easy to miss if one
were just tuning up the band. At 0922 noted music presented.
Signal remained threshold. (Chuck Bolland, August 16, 2009)
Ecuador, 3200.00, HCJB, (SPAR) 0932-1000, With a very
weak signal. Noted music until 0935 when a male talks in
Spanish briefly. At 0937 sounds like canned promos
presented. Music again at 0938. This format of music and
comments continue. Noted a female in comments at 0950.
Signal is too weak to understand any details from the
comments. I was treating this as an Unid until 0955 when I
realized it was a SPAR from HCJB on 3220 KHz.

Bolivia, 6155.24, Radio Fides, 1001-1030, Noted a male
in Spanish language comments - probably news. At 1011
after the comments, music is presented. The signal is threshold.

Correction: 26.27.34.65N 081.05.34.19W
Checked my position using Google Earth and
found the position I was using was incorrect.
The wrong position was taken from the paper
work that was left with me by Hendry
County after they had condemned my home
following Hurricane Whelma. They had used
a GPS device so I trusted it. I didn't check
the incorrect position before but it probably placed my
home in the middle of Lake Okeechobee, which if
anyone was checking, would look okay after a
hurricane. Great!
I've often fantasized about getting a houseboat and
sailing it on Lake Okeechobee. I wonder how I
would run out a longwire from the back of the boat?
I suppose I'd need a bouy of somekind to hang the
wire on at the far end? I guess the water would be
a very good conductor for signals or am I wrong?
I doubt if there's much RF noise out there? I had
a friend who did something like that years ago. He
sold his regular house and bought a houseboat which
he docked in Ft Lauderdale somewhere. Unfortuantely,
he wasn't a DXer.
Okay - got to walk the dogs.
