4845 MAURITANIA R. Mauritanie May 18 0640-0705. Muezzin singing Quar'anic verses. At 0645 music -- choral singing. This was followed by OM reciting prayers then at 0650 back to religious music which continued until 0700 live ID by an om. This was followed by an om talking until tune-out at 0705. All in Arabic.ÂÂPoor to fairÂsignal. (Barker-PA)
5995 MALI RTV du Mali May 18 0650-0710.ÂÂGood signal from Mali strong enough to rattle the windows.ÂTuned-in to fabulous tribal music -- vocals with lots of different wind and percussion instruments for accompaniment.ÂÂÂFrequent Radio Mali ID's heard. At 0700 a formal ID by YL in FF followed by OM reading what sounded like news in FF with some vernaculars. (Barker-PA)
