[HCDX] the last logs before our trip to Romania

171 MOROCCO Medi Un, Nador MAY 15 0305 - religious islamic music barely faded in and only briefly at a weak-poor level, though it faded in at a more or less "listenable" level too late for me ! // 9575 covered by splatter from major international broadcasters on both sides, Radio Japan and CRI (China Radio International) if my memores serves me well ! (Chiochiu-QC)

183 GERMANY Europe 1, Felsberg MAY 15 0235 - with dramatic reading of a poem dealing with a dangerous relationship. Fair-good with minimal static and some slow fadings in and out. SINPO 45423. (Chiochiu-QC)

216 FRANCE RMC Info, Romoules MAY 11 0320 - end of a sports repport, followed by weather, ID and news headlines including drug issues for a specific tennis player. Fair to poor and armchair copy at first. Rare and a TOTAL surprise in May ! Also had France-162 with a poor and Morocco-171 with a very poor signal. + MAY 15 0315 - again tonight with a rather poor signal with French sports talk barely readable, but interference-free. SIO 252. The only TA signal above 200 kHz heard lately ! During the winter months, there is usually a beacon pestering this channel, I wonder if during the spring and summer months it skips over Montreal for some unknown reason ! (Chiochiu-QC)

Additionnal comments:

I just discovered my Sangean is quite a battery eater, so I needed to take out the batteries and charge them a tiny bit AGAIN today, in order to get through this issue... When we arrive at our Romanian QTH, I'll make sure those batteries are out each time the radio is turned off... As I had some success DXing in an airplane during our trip to Cuba, I plan to do that once again ! I can't wait...I'm almost prepared for a sleepless night and I'm too excited, because DXing abord an airplane with a decent portable is one of the greatest challenges FM DXing can bring you ! As far as DXing longwave, mediumwave or shortwave, I can't say much, because I never had much success doing so from an airplane...

This repport is brought to you by Bogdan Alexandru Chiochiu DXing from Pierrefonds (Montreal's West Island), QC using the Sangean ACS 818-CST / PK's Shielded Magnetic longwave loop combo

May the good DX be with you !
Bogdan Chiochiu
