KINGSTON â Kingston Morning Radio could fall silent if its organizers donât raise $5,500 by the end of April.
Walter
Maxwell, who founded the popular morning radio show, said the slumping
economy has stifled donations. On April 29, the Morning Show will hold
a radio-thon from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. to raise the money it needs to
operate through mid-summer. The show broadcasts on WGHQ, 920 AM.
Kingston Morning Radio would likely end if donations are not given, Maxwell said.

		The
showâs volunteer hosts interview guests and take telephone calls to
promote conversation about topics of local interest. Kingston Morning
Radio received about $59,000 from donors and underwriters in 2008. The
money goes toward renting the station from itâs corporate owner, Pamal
Broadcasting.
